Graphite is a material of silence. Where a pen asserts itself with force, the pencil whispers. It lets me search for shadow, revisit a line, and build a depth that seems to vibrate under your gaze. It is a work of patience and layered strokes, gently approaching the truth of a face.
Pairing this portrait with a poem means giving shelter to what we don’t always know how to say. With this pack, I create a dialogue between image and words: one captures the moment, the other tells the story, turning your bond into a precious, lasting object.

The price
300 €/$360 USD VAT included. This includes the creation of the portrait, printing of the portrait and poem, and delivery within Europe.
From your story to the artwork
I start with your photos, but also with what you share: the bond between you, what you admire in the other person, a memory or emotion that keeps coming back. From there, I work on two intertwined paths:
- Drawing – I sculpt the shadows with graphite and charcoal to find the depth of a gaze, the truth of an expression, that presence that makes someone unique.
- Writing – I compose a short, simple, sincere poem. No forced lyricism, just words that ring true for your story.
Once the drawing is complete, I have it printed on a framed FSC‑certified canvas chosen for its elegance and timeless look. The poem is printed as a matte poster.
The result is not “just a black‑and‑white picture”. It is an object with a presence in the room, like a trace of soul that quietly keeps you company.
The original drawing stays in the studio: the framed canvas becomes your artwork, designed to stand or hang and to last over time. Final canvas size: 20 × 30 cm / 8 × 12″.

Your experience, step by step

Timing and adjustments
Allow about 4 weeks for creation and shipping. Before the final print, we can have a quick exchange to make small adjustments if needed.

About the signature
Out of respect for the intimacy of the people portrayed, I don’t systematically sign the portrait on the front.
“I consider that this image belongs to you first, and I prefer not to add my visual presence. I sign only upon request – just let me know when you order.”
